Norbert T. Madison Jr. is of counsel to our firm and a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. He joined the firm in 1989, after working for five years in the real estate department of a major discount retailer headquartered in Troy, Michigan. He previously worked for a tax and corporate firm in Troy, Michigan and in the mortgage closing department of the largest savings and loan in Michigan. Norb lives near Detroit, is married and has three children at home. His primary practice areas include Real Estate Transactions, including the purchase, sale, leasing, and financing of various types of real estate, Real Estate Development, including industrial, office, retail and residential, and Corporate and Partnership Law, including limited liability companies. Norb received his undergraduate degree (B.G.S.) in 1975 from the University of Michigan and his law degree (J.D.) in 1980 from the University of Detroit School of Law, and took additional courses in tax law at Wayne State University Law School.

Norb is active in the State Bar of Michigan, serving on the Communications Committee, for which he recently chaired the Legal Milestone honoring former Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court, the Honorable Mary Coleman. Norb is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, which is the largest trade group in the world for shopping center development. Norb is a member of the Board of Governors of the Detroit Racquet Club.
